After the indulgences of last week I had a staggering 5.5lb weight gain to work on, so losing all that in a week should have me doing cartwheels!

I’m a bit disappointed though, because I had lost all that weight by Thursday, meaning Friday and Saturday were free to make further losses.  I had dreams that if I could lose another couple of pounds, then it would have given me an average over the two weeks of 1lb a week, entirely respectable given the forbidden calories I was delighting in.

Losing 5.8lbs in a week is a wonderful achievement, but I couldn’t help being disappointed.

It wasn’t to be though, on Friday I actually put on 1.3lbs, which I attribute in part to water weight, due to eating an entire pack of ham (I imagine the 400 calories it contained didn’t exactly help)!

Losing 5.8lbs in a week is a wonderful achievement, but I couldn’t help being disappointed.  That’s one of the mental hurdles that I’ve been surprised by whilst slow carbing.

It’s fascinating and frustrating at the same time.  Such is my world these days 😀
